Continuing Education for CHT, CHTI and CPTMP

Thirty self-paced modules in three tracks, 45.5 CE hours, plus two Choices courses at 2 CE hours each, built on the 2027 CHT program and cited public standards. Every module ends in a short assessment, and your hours post to your ITC Online record when you pass it.

CHT

No CE required

CHT renews by reassessment. Frontline modules are professional development, and 10 logged hours earns the optional CE Active notation.

CHTI

30 hours / 5 years

Instructor and Leadership and Technical modules count. So do the NAHTM conference, the quarterly meetings and facilitating a CHT course.

CPTMP

30 hours / 3 years

At least 20 hours must be domain content, and no more than 10 professional service. Leadership and Technical modules are domain content.

Hours post when you pass, not when you finish reading. Each module ends in a 15-question assessment drawn from a 30-question bank. Pass with 11 of 15 correct and the hours post, with a CE certificate. A failed attempt costs nothing, you get three attempts, and each retake shows a different set. One CE hour is 50 to 60 minutes, credited in half hours.

The annual update is free. The Year in Transport Management (LT-33, 3 CE hours) is released each year and retires when the next edition publishes. It is free to every holder and never draws against a pass. Start the current edition.

Individual modules are priced by length: $39 for one hour, $49 for one and a half, $59 for two, $69 for two and a half, and $79 for three. A longer module costs less per hour on purpose.

Leadership and Technical (LT)

Counts toward CHTI and CPTMP renewal

Budgets, productivity, data, root cause, hiring, KPIs, patient flow and the FTE request. These go deeper than transport because a manager's problems are not confined to transport.

Frontline (CHT-CE)

Professional development for transporters

CHT does not require continuing education, so these carry no requirement and no CE toward CHTI or CPTMP. Departments assign them between reassessments, and transporters take them because the work is worth doing well.

A CPTMP holder who attends the NAHTM conference once in a three-year cycle and joins the quarterly meetings earns 28 domain-content hours without buying anything. Claims for outside hours are made within 90 days. Hours do not carry over between cycles, and there is a 90-day grace period after expiry.
