About Course

One of 30 ITC Continuing Education modules. See every module, the CE Access passes and how hours reach your record.

The three high-consequence topics new in the 2027 CHT-1 book: MRI safety zones and the projectile risk, Enhanced Barrier Precautions and where they apply, and portable oxygen duration, regulator and storage rules. Coded CHT-CE-13.

Professional development for transporters. Carries 1.5 CE hours toward the optional CHT CE Active notation. It carries no CE toward CHTI or CPTMP renewal. Hours post when you pass the end-of-module assessment.

One self-paced module with worked scenarios, the tools it refers to, and an applied activity at the end. Then a 15-question assessment drawn at random from a 30-question bank: pass with 11 of 15 correct. You get three attempts, each retake shows a different set, and every answer comes with an explanation.

What Will You Learn?

  • Name the four MRI safety zones, who controls each one, and where a transporter stops.
  • Explain why the magnet is always on and why oxygen cylinders are the object most often named in MRI projectile deaths.
  • Read the MR Safe, MR Conditional and MR Unsafe labels and act on each one.
  • Explain what Enhanced Barrier Precautions are, where CDC applies them, and when a transfer needs gown and gloves.
  • Calculate whether a portable oxygen cylinder will last a trip, using the CHT-1 formula and buffer.
  • Apply the cylinder handling and storage rules that prevent regulator fires and unsecured cylinders.
