About Course

One of 30 ITC Continuing Education modules. See every module, the CE Access passes and how hours reach your record.

Instructing a psychomotor skill, which is the hardest thing a CHTI does and the least covered: demonstration, guided practice, error correction without humiliation, and knowing when a learner is genuinely at standard. Coded CHTI-CE-13.

Carries 2.5 CE hours toward CHTI renewal. Hours post when you pass the end-of-module assessment.

One self-paced module with worked scenarios, the tools it refers to, and an applied activity at the end. Then a 15-question assessment drawn at random from a 30-question bank: pass with 11 of 15 correct. You get three attempts, each retake shows a different set, and every answer comes with an explanation.

See every module, the CE rules and how hours reach your record on the Continuing Education page.

What Will You Learn?

  • Break a CHT-1 skill into teachable steps, marking the critical steps and the reason behind each.
  • Run a demonstration and guided practice that make the learner do the thinking, using the four-step approach inside the Five-Stage Method.
  • Set up a practice station that is physically and psychologically safe.
  • Give feedback about the task, at the right time and frequency, and correct a safety error at once without humiliating the learner.
  • Decide when a learner is at Proficient under the CHT-1 calibration rules, and when they have only been coached through.
  • Plan for skill decay so that what is learned in the station survives on the floor.
