About this course

Patients can't judge whether a surface was disinfected correctly. They can judge the person who did it, and they can tell you if their food was hot, right, and served kindly. Hospitals' own patient experience surveys, such as Press Ganey, ask about the courtesy of the person who cleaned the room and the person who served the food, and about food temperature and quality. In one nine-hospital health system, the hospitals whose patients rated courtesy lowest also had the lowest cleanliness scores. The national HCAHPS survey, updated for discharges since January 1, 2025, now asks whether "doctors, nurses and other hospital staff" helped patients rest and worked well together, and CMS plans to count those measures toward Medicare hospital payment starting in fiscal year 2030. This course teaches ENTER: enter and greet, name yourself, tell what happens, estimate the time, recap and thank.

Questions

Does this course carry CE credit?
No. It is professional development with a certificate of completion.

Does it replace our service standards?
No. It works with them. ENTER is a simple structure, and every lesson tells learners to follow their hospital's policy, products, and scripts first.

Does it teach clinical tasks?
No. It teaches team members to hand clinical questions and requests to the nurse.

Will it raise our HCAHPS or Press Ganey scores?
No course can promise a score. It builds the frontline habits behind the cleanliness, restfulness, care coordination, courtesy and meal questions.

Does it cover food?
Yes. Lesson 7 covers the three meal items patients rate (temperature, quality, and courtesy of the person who served the food) and the tray pass that drives them.

Can one pack cover several departments?
Yes. Seats can go to any mix of support departments, and Lesson 6 has a section for each one.

Can I see who finished?
Yes. Department pack buyers can request a completion and score report at any time.
