About Course

One of 30 ITC Continuing Education modules. See every module, the CE Access passes and how hours reach your record.

The five sources of inter-rater failure and the calibration tools that close them.

Carries 1 CE hour toward CHTI renewal. Hours post when you pass the end-of-module assessment.

One self-paced module with worked scenarios, the tools it refers to, and an applied activity at the end. Then a 15-question assessment drawn at random from a 30-question bank: pass with 11 of 15 correct. You get three attempts, each retake shows a different set, and every answer comes with an explanation.

See every module, the CE rules and how hours reach your record on the Continuing Education page.

What Will You Learn?

  • Name the five failure modes of inter-rater reliability and recognize each one in your own rating history.
  • Rate against a behavioral anchor rather than an impression, and cite the anchor when you record a rating.
  • Run a pre-cohort calibration session with a shared scenario and a reconciliation discussion.
  • Read a rating distribution and say what it reveals about the rater.
  • Apply the defer-down rule and the do-not-pass triggers when a rating is genuinely uncertain.
  • Build a calibration plan, a reconciliation record and a before-the-station card your program can reuse.
