Standardized pre-use inspection and the failures it catches.

Professional development for transporters. Carries 1 CE hour toward the optional CHT CE Active notation. It carries no CE toward CHTI or CPTMP renewal. Hours post when you pass the end-of-module assessment.

One self-paced module with worked scenarios, the tools it refers to, and an applied activity at the end. Then a 15-question assessment drawn at random from a 30-question bank: pass with 11 of 15 correct. You get three attempts, each retake shows a different set, and every answer comes with an explanation.

What Will You Learn?

  • Run a pre-use check on a wheelchair, a stretcher and a bariatric conveyance and state what each check is looking for.
  • Find and apply the rated weight capacity of a conveyance before a patient is placed in it.
  • Handle, secure and check an oxygen cylinder correctly during transport.
  • Remove a defective device from service so that it cannot return to the pool.
  • State the facility’s reporting obligation when a device is involved in a death or a serious injury.
  • Make the right equipment call under pressure, and know your own department’s ratings, tags and reporting route.
