About Course
About this module
Transporters work alone in elevators, back hallways and crowded lobbies, often with their hands on a bed. When a visitor gets angry, they are usually the closest staff member. And every shift, they push hundreds of pounds of bed and patient across ramps, thresholds and elevator gaps. This module teaches you to stay calm and safe when tension rises, and to protect your own body over a long career.
You learn the three stages of escalation, where to stand, elevator decisions, the 3-Line Script, and when to step back and call security. Then you learn how to push and steer without hurting yourself, when to call for a team or a device, what to do about slips, sharps and exposures, and how to report injuries, near misses and hazards the right way. It builds on ITC's Hallway and Elevator De-Escalation course and the CHT-1 2027 curriculum.
