About Course

About this module

A transport is the part of a patient's day when no nurse is at the bedside. If breathing changes, a stroke starts, a patient faints or slides toward the floor, the transporter is the one who sees it first. This module teaches you to notice the early signs and to act inside your role: stop, call, stay with the patient, and tell the right people what you saw.

You learn a 20-second baseline check at pickup (Breathing, Color, Mind, Comfort), the early warning signs that matter on a trip, BE FAST for stroke, what to do before, during and after a fall, and the Five-Step Stop: Notice, Stop, Call, Stay, Tell. It is built from the CHT-1 2027 curriculum, endorsed by NAHTM.
